Where does your company really stand?
Answer for how things actually work today, not how the strategy deck says they work. You get your result straight away: your tier, a breakdown across five areas, and the one place to start.
What does AI-native actually mean?
There is no official definition, and most of the popular ones are written so that only startups qualify. Harvard Business School Online describes an AI-native business as one built from the ground up to leverage AI. The venture firm CRV calls AI the architectural foundation on which the entire product depends. A common shorthand is the removal test: take the AI out, and an AI-native product stops working.
That is a useful test for a product. For a company that was founded before AI, it is a closed door. The definition we use is behavioural: your people reach for AI by default when they hit a repetitive or ambiguous task, and the organisation can absorb what comes back. That one is reachable, and it is what the quiz measures.
AI-assisted
Individuals use AI tools on their own. Nothing about how the company works has changed.
AI-enabled
AI tools are approved and in use, added on top of existing workflows.
AI-native
Workflows, roles, data and products are designed with AI as the default first move.

Questions about AI-native
- What does AI-native mean?
- There is no single official definition. The common one is architectural: a company built around AI from the start, where the product would stop working if you took the AI out. For an established business, a more useful definition is behavioural: your people reach for AI by default when they hit a repetitive or ambiguous task, and the organisation can absorb what comes back.
- What is the difference between AI-native and AI-enabled?
- An AI-enabled company has added AI tools to the way it already works. An AI-native company has changed the way it works around AI: workflows, roles, data and products are designed with AI as the default. Remove AI from an AI-enabled company and it loses some features; remove it from an AI-native one and the work stops.
- Can an established company become AI-native?
- Not in the strict sense of being founded that way. But the outcome that matters, AI as the default first move across most workflows, is reachable. It comes from redesigning workflows and training existing people, not from buying tools.
- How is the quiz scored?
- Ten questions, each scored 0 to 3, across five areas: people and habits, workflows and value, visibility and foundations, product, and building and shipping. The total out of 30 places you in one of four tiers, and your lowest area is where we suggest you start.
